"4e prix Hôtel & Lodge Awards 2022 C’est un de ces palaces où, à peine le seuil franchi, l’Histoire s’impose avec magnificence, les ans ayant patiné les murs de ses 84 chambres avec une infinie délicatesse. Géré depuis 1834 par la famille Fiorentino, le 5-étoiles ressemble à un décor d’opéra où la voix d’Enrico Caruso résonne encore. Le ténor, à l’instar du compositeur Richard Wagner, aimait se ressourcer dans la sérénité azurée des lieux, s’enivrant des essences méditerranéennes du jardin. La légende affirme que dans sa suite surplombant la grande bleue, face au Vésuve et à Naples, il fredonnait « Une furtiva lagrima », romance extraite de l’opéra L’Élixir d’amour, de Gaetano Donizetti. Originally from Sorrento, chef Antonino Montefusco is totally at home here, creating dishes that draw from the region’s culinary traditions thanks to his in-depth knowledge of local producers and ingredients, which also includes the use of organic produce grown in the hotel’s own gardens, such as oranges, lemons and olive oil. Four tasting menus are available, including a vegetarian option and a menu dedicated to the restaurant’s “Greatest Eats”. "
