"Natural Bridge is a waterfall which over years of erosion curved a deep natural hole in the stone, truly a remarkable site. Natural Bridge, is located in Springbrook National Park ( a short drive from the Gold Coast – South East Queensland, Australia). There are viewing platforms inside the cave area and it is possible to spot the colonies of glow worms during night time (There are several organized night tours operators to the cave). The water from the waterfall make their way into the Nerang River. In the past swimming was permitted around the waterfall but nowadays it is no longer allowed in order to protect the glow worms habitat. It is a fairly easy walk down to the arch, there are some slippery steps along the way (and the way back). There are cute picnic area and BBQ and the wet green foliage all around makes the short hike well worth while and at the same time very peaceful (The entire hike is no more than 1 kilometer – round trip)."

"0.7mi Length 111ft Elevation gain 0.5–1hr Estimated time Loop The Natural Bridge Walk is packed with unique features that make it an excellent trip for all ages and abilities. From the car park, head clockwise on the walking track as it descends to Cave Creek and passes waterfalls, hoop pines, and a naturally arched rock formation created by water flowing for millions of years over the rock. Come here at night for a guided tour of the natural bridge and to see the colony of glow worms and bent-wing bats. Accessing and swimming in the creek are prohibited as this area is protected within the Gondwana Rainforest. Bochow Park is a short distance away and has picnic tables and a fantastic swimming spot. There is limited mobile reception in the park. Natural Bridge is in the western part of Springbrook National Park, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. The park's Natural Bridge section features a picturesque rock formation, formed by the force of the waterfall over the basalt cave. It is easily accessible from the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road car park. Follow the easy one-kilometre circuit (walk in a clockwise direction) and descend through the ancient Gondwana rainforest to the Natural Bridge rock arch. Hoop pines emerging from surrounding forests are living relics of the Jurassic Age, 180 million years ago. During the day, spot paradise riflebirds, green catbirds, wompoo fruit-doves and rare and threatened species like the cascade tree frog, tusked frog, sooty owl and koala. At night, join a guided nocturnal tour to see the resident colony of protected glow-worms and microbats. On summer nights, also see luminous fungi and fireflies. Part of Cave Creek in the Natural Bridge section is a Restricted Access Area to prevent the risk of injury or death. Swimming in the creek, including within the cave, and access to the creek bank is prohibited. There is one camping area in Springbrook National Park called "The Settlement" camping ground, perfect for visiting the glow worm caves at night. Remember to be quiet when visiting, the ground can be slippery, smoking and bug repellants inside the cave are prohibited. The Natural Bridge section is known for the small, brilliant blue-green lights seen at night that decorate the ceiling and rocky overhangs of the cave on this 1km circuit. These lights are emitted by tiny glow worms, which rely on the dense canopy and rainfall of the Gondwana Rainforests to survive. With only eight species of glow worms in Australia, and each colony restricted to a particular region, these babies help make the World Heritage title sparkle. The glow worms can only be seen after sunset, with the best bioluminescence displays seen during the warmer, wetter months of the year (December until March). If you can’t get to Springbrook after dark, no need to fret. As the sunlight streams through the Natural Bridge it lights up the water, creating an equally magical experience. With nine walking tracks, you will definitely need to remember your hiking boots to go exploring the rest of the national park."
